Harry Frederick Yancey

SOUTH BOSTON Mr. Harry Frederick Yancey passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the age of 70.Born March 20, 1947 in Durham County, NC, he was the son of the late Harry Preston Yancey and the late Frances Satterwhite Yancey and was married to Patricia Clay Yancey. He was a graduate of Bluestone High School, class of 1965 and was a retired long distance truck driver for Lasco Bathware Company.Harry was a member of Mt. Cana United Methodist Church and a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Clay Yancey; daughter, Jennifer Yancey Throckmorton and husband, Billy; grandson, Adam Lee Throckmorton and friend, Maggie Allgood; brother, Larry Preston Yancey and wife, Gail of Richmond; sister, Linda Yancey Milton and husband, Donnie of Oxford, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved beagle, Ginger.
