Hazel Lloyd Conner Barker

Mrs. Hazel Lloyd Conner Barker of 1053 Whitt Loop Rd., Alton died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the age of 71. Mrs. Barker was born in Halifax Co. on November 28, 1938 to the late James and Hennie Brown Lloyd. She was married to the late Harry F. Conner (first husband) and the late Ralph Lee Barker, Sr. (second husband). She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Janice Duffey and husband, Junior of Clover and Wanda Lacks and husband, James of Drakes Branch; sons, Jimmy Conner and wife, Tammie of Scottsburg, Tony Conner and wife, Debbie of Timberlake, NC, Roger Conner and wife, Janet of South Boston, and Randy Conner and wife, Kelley of Halifax; brothers, Allen Lloyd and wife, Linda of South Boston and Joe Lloyd and wife, Charlotte of Scottsburg; sister-in-law, Patsy Lloyd of South Boston; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and special friend, Mary Jacobs of Roxboro, NC. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bobby Jo Wade Jackson; brothers, Frankie, Clarence, and Howard Lloyd; and a sister, Gracie Lloyd Wilson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
