Hazel Overbey Miller

BULLOCK, NC Mrs. Hazel Vilda Miller of Bullock, NC passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 61.Born in Staunton, VA on December 4, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Ray Overbey and the late Ernestine Miles and was married to Robert Miller. Hazel was a member of Nelson Baptist Church. She loved her family more than anything, her second love would be her animals.She was a bargain hunter and thrifter and a collector of cookie jars. She was employed with Winston International as a cable maker. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Bobby; sons, Robbie Miller and fiancé, Kirby Williams of Oxford, and Dwayne Shifflett and fiancé, Amanda Jones of Staunton; daughters, Jody Shifflett and fiancé, TobyCash of Waynesboro, and Hope Shifflett of Waynesboro; step daughter, Chanel and Daryl Keeton of Kill Devil Hills; grandchildren, Cory, Jacy, Kendal, Preston, Caleb, Hunter P, Kyleigh, Hunter K, Madisyn, Dylan, Ashleigh, Sadie, Pearson and Mary Jane; great grandchild, Baylee; brothers, Gerald and Bonnie Overbey of Staunton, Patrick “Lindy” and Brenda Overbey of Stuarts Draft, and Herman Leroy and Pam Overbey of Stuarts Draft; sisters, Betsy O. Price of Staunton and Kathy O. Keeton of Terra Haute, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Nelson Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Don Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Burial will be private.
