Hazel Elizabeth Whitt

Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Whitt of 116 Rosehill Drive, South Boston, VA died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born in Halifax County, VA on October 18, 1927 to the late Johnnie Green Whitt and the late Willie Ida Ford Whitt, and was married to the late Francis Parker Lunsford. Mrs. Whitt was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, and was a former employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Lunsford Cole of Virgilina, VA; two grandsons, Ralph Franklin Cole, Jr. and wife Hope of Virgilina, VA and Robert Daniel Cole and fiance Caitlyn, also of Virgilina, VA; two great grandchildren, Robert Alexander Cole and Mary Alethea Cole;two brothers, John Whitt of South Boston, VA and Talmadge Whitt of Halifax, VA; three sisters, Alma Green of Red Oak, VA, Gladys Lewis of South Boston, VA and Bobbie Jean Whitt of Creedmore, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Rufus Whitt, William Whitt, Levi Whitt, and Franklin Whitt. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 2 pm in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. George Gorman officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Sunday night, March 31, 2013, from 7 until 8:30, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Patsy Cole, 2214 North Fork Church Road, Virgilina, VA 24598.
