Hazel Winifred Hughes Pleasants

Mrs. Hazel Winifred Hughes Pleasants, age 86, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Virgilina, VA, died Monday, November 16, 2009 in Atlanta. Born November 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Bonnie and Agnes Spivey Hughes, and the widow of James W. Pleasants and was a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors are one son, Jimmie Pleasants of LaGrange, GA; a daughter, Sylvia P. Berube of Sanford, FL; one brother, Ted Hughes of Walterboro, SC; by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Pleasants. Graveside memorial services will be conducted Friday at 2 PM in Virgilina Cemetery with Rev. Scott Pleasants officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000
