Helen Alease Bowes

ALTON - Mrs. Helen Alease Bowes, wife of Golden C. Bowes, Jr., of Alton passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the age of 68. She was born in Halifax Co. on August 16, 1951 the daughter of the late Charles Flem Satterfield and the late Helen Alease Carter Satterfield. Helen was a member of Alton Baptist Church and worked at Tultex for over 20 years. She loved working with flowers, cooking, and helping others. Mrs. Bowes is survived by her husband; daughter, Jenny May Sisk and husband, Donnie; son, Brett Bowes; sister, Faye Hatcher and husband, Walter; brothers, Ray Satterfield and wife, Rebecca and Raymond Satterfield and wife, Susan; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Deborah Pulliam, Patricia Humphries, and Ann Reaves. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Charles Satterfield, Aubrey Satterfield, and Joe Satterfield. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Bowes family cemetery with Reverend Vance Midgett officiating. The family is receiving friends at the home, 1028 Mt. Carmel Rd., Alton.
