Helen Walker Rogers

Mrs. Helen Rachel Walker Rogers of Alton passed away September 18, 2017 at the age of 81. She was born in Person Co., NC on April 6, 1936 as the daughter of the late Howard Walker and Lucy Vicks Walker and was married to the late Roy Singleton Rogers. Mrs. Rogers was a retired employee of Sales Knitting and enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens. She also loved her grandchildren, shopping, and flea markets. Mrs. Rogers is survived by her sons, Charles Bowes (Pam) of Semora, NC. and Mark Bowes (Tammy) of Timberlake, NC; 12 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; sisters, Susie Bowes of Bethel Hill, NC and Evelyn Hatcher of Roxboro, NC; brother Sam Walker of Roxboro, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Anthony Jordan and Robert Bowes; daughters, Shelia Bowes Anderson and Penny Bowes; brothers, Charlie, Willie and Junior Walker; sisters, Betty Harris, Eva Walker and Mary Harris. Funeral services for Helen will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 2:00PM at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
