Henry Lewis Chappell

Mr. Henry Lewis Chappell of 9171 Mountain Rd., Vernon Hill died Monday, January 4, 2010 at his home at the age of 75. He was born in Halifax Co. to the late John Phillip Chappell and the late Flora Long Chappell Moore and was married to Janet Elliott Chappell. Mr. Chappell was a tobacconist for Universal Leaf Co. and attended Mountain Rd. Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, H.L. Chappell, Jr. and wife, Judy of Halifax; two daughters, Janet Leigh Anderson and husband, Andy of Butner, NC and Peggy Sue Pulley and husband, Bill of Durham, NC; two brothers, Wesley Long Chappell of Halifax and Lawrence B. Chappell of La Plata, MD; five grandchildren, Michael Lewis Anderson and wife, Abigail, Melissa Anderson, H.L. Chappell, III and wife, Melanie, Calyn Pulley, and Will Pulley; and four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Chappell, Gracie Chappell, Hailey Anderson, and Mason Lewis Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Phillip Chappell, Jr. and William Burton Chappell. The family will receive friends at the home.
