Henry Allen Cole

VIRGILINA, VA Mr. Henry “Allen” Cole passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the age of 82.Born in Halifax County on September 25, 1935 he was the son of the late Thomas Wilmouth Cole and the late Mary Lou Lowery Cole and was married to Alice Martin Cole for 54 years. Henry was a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon of the church. He was retired from Burlington Industries after working with them for 46 Years and served his country in the Army. He loved farming, gardening, hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Cole is survived by a daughter, Lynn Bowes and husband, Thomas; son, Robert Cole; grandchildren, Stephanie Moore and husband, Byron, Thomas Cole and friend, Kasey Morris, David Branscome and wife Kara; great grandchildren, Amber Moore and Corey Moore; sister, Margaret Eudy; nephew, Warren Cole and wife, Penny; niece, Sharon Richardson and husband, Carl and a host of other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Cleo Proctor, Lois Dunlow, Maxine Huneycutt; and a brother, Tommy Cole. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverend Lee Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Virgilina Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at his home, 1135 Ford Lane, Virgilina, VA.
