Henry L. Martin

Mr. Henry L. Martin, Jr. of 1046 Evergreen Trail, Halifax, VA died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the age of 68. He was born in Campbell Co., VA on October 6, 1945 to the late Henry L. "Buck" Martin, Sr. and the late Helen Ferrell Martin and was married to Deborah Burton Martin. Mr. Martin was US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam war. He retired from ABB and was the owner of C.J.S. Supply, Inc.. He graduated from Halifax Co. High School, Class of 1963 and graduated from Ferrum and Averett. Mr. Martin was a member of Center United Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Debbie B. Martin; a son, Scott W. Martin and his wife, Lauren of Lynchburg, VA; and a granddaughter, Maddison Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Anderson and Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday, April 17 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and at other times at the home.
