Henry Bernard Morris

Mr. Henry Bernard Morris, age 82, of 4238 Red Bank Rd., Virgilina died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at The Woodview. Mr. Marris was born in Halifax County on March 26, 1927 the son of the late Willie Osborne Morris, Sr. and Bessie Tuck Morris and was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric Corporation and farmer. He was a member of Union Christian Church where he was a former Deacon. Mr. Morris is survived by his wife Estelle Cox Morris of the home, daughters; Carolyn Morris Whitlow and husband Danny of South Boston, Freida Morris Snead & husband, John of Dover, DE sons, Carey D. Morris of Virgilina and, Earl W. Morris & wife, Stacy of Nathalie, sisters Barbara Morris Holt & her husband, Coy of Cluster Springs and Beatrice M. Buchanan of Clarksville; brother Gerald Morris of Virgilina, step-daughters; Joyce C. Green & husband, Ronnie of South Boston and Linda C. Howell of Farmville; 13 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren 2 Step-Granddaughters and 1 Step Great-Grandchild, special friends Junior and Paula Talley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Welcher Morris, son Henry Allen Morris and brothers Thomas Morris, Albert Morris, Franklin Morris, Woodrow Morris, Willie O. Morris, Jr., and David Morris Funeral Services for Henry Bernard Morris will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Union Christian Church with Rev. Jimmy Pulliam and Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery The family will receive friends Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Brooks Funeral Home from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
