Herbert Carson Comer

VERNON HILL, VA Mr. Herbert Carson Comer passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 58.Born in Halifax County on June 14, 1960, he was the son of the late Herbert Thomas Comer and the late Janie Crews Comer. Herbert was an avid hunter, fisherman and an excellent carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. He was formerly employed at Elliott Electric as electrician and plumber. He is survived by a daughter, Zora Grace Comer; son, Nicholas Comer; siblings, Rita Faye Edmondson and friend, Charles Ferguson; Judy Rice and husband, Kenny; Janice Martin and friend, James “Wolfie” Davenport; Joan Snead and husband, Sammy Wayne Snead; Jewel Boelte and husband Ronald Boelte; and Garry Thomas Comer;special friends, Tim Hamlet and Bradley Hudson; step daughter, Michelle Green; 3 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; and numerous family members and nieces & nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverends Carl Hudson and Bill Wilkins officiating.Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 7:00-8:30 PM and other times at his home, 3161 Thompson Store Road, Vernon Hill, VA.
