Herbert Merrill Wheatley

CLARKSVILLE, VA. Herbert Merrill Wheatley, 59, of Clarksville, VA passed away on January 8, 2015 in his home. He was born on August 5, 1955 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Herbert Hoover Wheatley and his mother Jean Knapp Wheatley.Herb graduated from the University of Maryland and worked many jobs most recently at Lowe’s as a sales clerk. He was also an avid Eagles fan. Herb was a devoted and loving family man. His other interests included listening to Celtic music and the songs of Bruce Springsteen. Herb’s hobbies included working on his pool, visiting the ocean and going crabbing. Mr. Wheatley is survived by his wife, Robin Barnhart Wheatley; daughter and son-in-law, Rachael (Jeff) Davis; son, Joshua Wheatley; mother, Jean Wheatley; sister, Marsha Hession and granddaughters, Autumn and Madeline. Visitation at 6 p.m. and Memorial Service at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 will be held at Watkins Cooper Lyon Chapel, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA 23927.
