Hilda Mills Reese

Hilda Ruth Mills Reese of Skipwith, VA passed peacefully to her Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 98.  Born in Jeffries, VA on July 29, she was the daughter of the late James Milton Mills and Nannie Chappell Mills.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Isaac Reese.

Hilda was formerly employed with Burlington Industries in quality assurance.  She worked alongside her husband at Matt's Store on Hwy. 49, Skipwith, VA for over 20 years. She loved her flowers and being outside in her yard.   She was a beloved wife, mother, and a loving aunt to her family. Hilda was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis McCray (David); 16 nieces & nephews.  In addition to her parents and her husband of 40 years, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mike Reynolds officiating.
