Hillard Marshall Sizemore

November 8, 1928 — July 20, 2014

Hillard Marshall Sizemore, 85, husband of Billie Marie Gregory Sizemore, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born November 8, 1928 to the late Fred Miles and Edna Mariah Hite Sizemore. A graduate of Clarksville High School, Hillard served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post # 8163; a charter member of the Clarksville Ruritan Club; and member, deacon and former Trustee and Treasurer of Averett Baptist Church. Hillard was retired from the Federal Government where he served as the County Executive Director for the Department of Agriculture. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Wednesday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Rodney Barwick officiating. Entombment will follow at the Eternity Mausoleum in Oakhurst Cemetery. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mr. Sizemore is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marsha S. and Michael Masengale of Chesapeake, son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sandy Sizemore of Buffalo Junction, and brother, E.J. Sizemore of Lynchburg. His five grandchildren, Angela Wells, Shayna Gilbert, Dane Zimmerman, Shelly Sizemore, and Gregory Sizemore and seven great grandchildren also survive. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8:30pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com.
