Hudson "Hut" Delano Cole

Mr. Hudson “Hut” Delano Cole of T.N. Snow Road, Nathalie passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born in Virgilina, VA on June 30, 1934 to the late Drewey Seate Cole and the late Mary Hudson Cole and was first married to the late Margaret Catherine Peade and then to the late Joan Crews. He owned and operated Riverdale Glass with his brother Lloyd and retired from Collins & Aikman in Roxboro, NC. Mr. Cole enjoyed being on a farm, and especially his horses, and hosted a trail ride for many years. He loved being around people and providing transportation for the Amish. He is survived by his children, Cathy Cole Link (Donnie) of Crystal Hill, Michael Hudson Cole (Jennifer) of Waverly, VA, and Susan Cole Wilborn (Jeff) of South Boston; grandchildren, Maggie Smith Evans, Olivia Marie Davis Cole, Sabrina Lyn Cole, Kaylynn Elizabeth Cole, J.B. Wilborn, Jr., Catherine Wilborn Knutti, William Carl Thompson, Selena Jade Thompson, Jaxson Daniel Thompson, Dallas Elizabeth Thompson, Lily Ann Laitkep, Ace Hudson Laitkep, and Tyler Mackenzie Blackstock; great-grandchildren, Savannah Lynn Knutti, Ava Dean Knutti, and Madelyn Grace Wilborn; two step children, Jeni Benner (Jim) and Barry Thompson (Beth); and sisters, Jean Brooks of West Point, VA and Billie Canada of Burlington, NC. In addition to his parents and wives, Hudson was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Laitkep and two brothers, Lloyd Cole and Booker Cole. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 18 at 4:00 PM at North Fork Baptist Church with The Reverend Doug Ballew officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 17 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Those wishing to give memorials please consider the Halifax Co.
