Idarea Nelson Walker

Idarea Nelson Walker, 94, died at Hopewell Healthcare Center on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.She was born to Henry Nelson and Collie Wilson Nelson in Person County, NC on December 22, 1920.Idarea moved to Hopewell in 1954 and worked for many years at A & P Grocery store, until retiring in 1978.She was a member of High View Baptist Church.Surviving Idarea are her daughter, Emma W. Montgomery, her grandson, Curtis T. Montgomery, III and his wife Lesley of Moseley, her great granddaughters, Abigail and Madeline and her sister Catherine N. Whitlow of Roxboro, NC.Preceding her in death are her husband, William Royster Walker and her son, Joseph Allen Whitlow. The funeral service will be held at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Monday, June 15 at 11 AM, with a visitation one hour prior. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com.
