Ila Harter Glasscock

Mrs. Ila Harter Glasscock, 93, widow of Rommie Vest Glasscock, died Friday October 29, 2010 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville. Born March 04, 1917, she was one of thirteen children born to Adam and Rosetta Slaughter Harter. A charter member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Ila was a homemaker. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Rodney Barwick and Rev. Jeaux Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church cemetery. Ila is survived by her daughters Paige Hayes of Rockville; Sybil Cole of Buffalo Junction, and sons, Lewis Glascock and David Glasscock both of Buffalo Junction. Her grandson, Jeffrey Hayes of Glen Allen also survives. She was preceded in death by a son Rommie Lee Glasscock. A special thanks goes out to Meadowview Terrace Nursing Home, Halifax Regional Hospice, caregivers Teresa and Tracy. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 PM Sunday October 31 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
