Ira Thomas Gravitt

Ira Thomas Gravitt of South Boston passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the age of 74.  Born in Halifax County on March 24, 1950, he was the son of the late Thomas Edwin Gravitt and the late Audrey Faye Jones.  He is married to Pamela Miller Gravitt.

Ira was a hard working man and worked in construction all of his life. He retired from PMS.

In addition to Pamela Miller Gravitt, he is survived by his sons, Tommy Gravitt, Robert Gravitt and Jeremy Miller; grandchildren, Alex, Shylar, Lily, Jacie, Robert Jr., Bryce, Logan, Marlaina, and Savannah; brothers, Wayne Gravitt (Gloria) and Donnie Gravitt; and a sister-in-law, Karen Gravitt and a host of neices and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Gravitt and a brother, Von Gravitt.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Norman Talley officiating.  Following the service, there will be light refreshments and fellowship at the home of Amanda Gravitt, 1123 Gills Mountain Road, Virgilina, VA..
