Buffalo Junction, VA - Jacqueline Goode Pittard Pittard, 88, the widow of William Robert Pittard, died on Monday, August 1, 2016.She was born on May 8, 1928 in Bullock, NC to the late Lila Mitchell and John Bullock Pittard. Mrs. Pittard was a graduate of Stovall High School and attended Meredith College.She worked as a railroad depot agent for the Southern and the Atlantic & Danville Railroads prior to becoming the Postmaster at the Buffalo Junction Post office.She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Jacqueline “Jackie” was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Anne Gregory.She is survived by daughter, Nancy Carole Diamond and her husband, Michael, of Stovall, NC , by son, John William Pittard and his wife, Bonnie, of Buffalo Junction and by grandchildren, Joshua Bass Pittard, Zachary Robert Pittard, Caleb Gray Pittard and William Young Gregory.She is also survived by two great grandchildren and son-in-law, Thomas Young Gregory. The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3 at Buffalo Baptist Church, 803 Buffalo Church Rd., Buffalo Junction with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The Reverend B. J. Erps will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Pittard to the charity of your choice.
