James Delbert Arrington

Mr. James Delbert "Dell" Arrington, 79, husband of Nancy Yancey Arrington, died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at his home. The son of Bossie Blandford and Mildred Burnett Arrington, he was a graduate of Clarksville High School and Danville Technical Institute. A member Averette Baptist Church, Dell served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was employed with the Department of Corrections for 24 years. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend James McAlister officiating. Interment will follow at Oakhurst Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Dell is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robbie and Doris Arrington and Curtis and Michele Arrington, all of Nelson. Also surviving Dell are brothers, Reginald Leon Arrington of Buffalo Junction, Harold Blandford "Buck" Arrington of Three Rivers, Mich; William Cecil "Billy" Arrington of Felton, Del, Francis Lee Arrington, Berry Wayne Arrington, and Jerry Layne Arrington, all of Nelson; and sister, Wanda A. Martin of Florida. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Friday at the funeral home.
