James Crafton Averette

Bullock, NC James Crafton Averette, 78, the husband of Ruby Keeton Averette, died the morning of August 6, 2015 at his home.James was born to the late Luther Edward and Pauline Shearin Averette on February 8, 1937 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.He graduated with the Clarksville High School Class of 1954.Mr. Averette was a member of Marrows Chapel United Methodist Church in Oxford.The family will receive friends on Friday, August 7th at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville, Virginia from 7 PM until 8:30 PM.Mr. James Crafton Averette is survived by his wife, Ruby, his sons, Mark S. Averette and wife, JoAnn of Clarksville, VA and Clay S. Averette and wife, Gayle of Virgilina, VA and his sister, Inez Patton and husband, Dave of Buffalo Junction, VA.He is also survived by four granddaughters, Crystal Johnson and husband, Michael, Mindy Nodelman, Jordan Averette and Malori Averette and Ryan, one grandson, Mark S. Averette II, four great granddaughters, Kendall, Sophie, and Libby Johnson and Ember Detomo.The funeral service for Mr. Averette will be held at Marrows Chapel United Methodist Church on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Darrel Bowles officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Marrows Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
