Clarksville, VA James “Edward” Williamson, Sr., 70, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016.He was born in Granville County, NC on April 17, 1946 to the late Rosa Mae Wilson and George B. Williamson.Edward was a United States Army veteran and a member of Bluestone Independent Baptist Church.He was formerly a training instructor for Burlington Industries. Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Mildred Diane Newton Williamson, two sons, James Edward Williamson, Jr. (Lori) and Roy Thomas Williamson (Alicia), a sister, Mildred Williamson Wilson of Oxford, NC and a brother, Leroy Williamson (Mary) of Clarksville.Also surviving are granddaughters, Ashley Williamson, Chelsey Williamson, and Breanna Wade, grandsons, Roy Thomas Williamson, Jr., Christopher Luke Williamson and David Wade, and great grandson, Kaleb Hew.Edward was predeceased by his son, George Edward Williamson and his sisters, Annie Belle Propst and Mary Frances Green. The funeral service for James Edward Williamson will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Bluestone Independent Baptist Church, 6675 Highway 15, Clarksville, VAwith burial to follow at Marrow’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 203 Hicksboro Rd., Bullock, NC.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.The Reverend Ryan McGuire will officiate.
