Oxford, NC - James Rondal Malugen, husband of Amy Blackwell Malugen, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the age of 71.He was born in Portageville, MO on February 14, 1945 to the late Wilma Smith Malugen and the late A.B. Malugen.James was retired from GTE where he worked as a cable splice manager.He was a man of strong faith; a husband, father, “Papa” and a great friend to all.He was a member of Nelson Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 33 years, James Malugen is survived by children, Jason Malugen (Katrina), Chris Malugen (Kim), Angie Malugen, Kelly Garrett (Scottie), Nicole Davis, Kevin Malugen (Lauren) and Corey Million, 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.He is also survived by siblings, JoAnn Rapier (Bill), Jack Malugen (Sandy), Lanny Malugen (Lynn), Rita Mack and Dennis Malugen.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bonnie Malugen. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA.Funeral services for Mr. Malugen will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31 at Nelson Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The Reverend Don Wilson will be officiating.
