James "Jim" Keith Weaver, Jr.

James Keith "Jim" Weaver, Jr., of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Durham County, NC, on May 30, 1946, he was the son of the late James K. Weaver, Sr. and the late Beatrice Thoesen Weaver. He was a graduate of Durham High class of 1964 and of Montgomery College. Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy and saw service during the Vietnam War. He retired from the North Carolina State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation after 25 years of service. Jim served as Chairman of the Raleigh Mayors Committee for Persons with Disabilities for more than 5 years. Jim is survived by his wife, Lynda Adcock Weaver, step-son, Bart Wester (Michelle) of Rolesville; grandchildren, Samantha Campbell (Dylan) of Zebulon, Brad Wester (Baylee) of Wendell, Kristina Presley (Ryan) of Port Angeles, WA, Brittnee Rooney (Chester) of Port Angeles, WA and Nicole Shipman (Brent) of Texas as well as eight great grandchildren and fur baby, Freida. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Rusnak; sister, Jeanne Seals; brother, Michael Weaver and by cherished pet, Mollie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Ephesus Baptist Church, 6767 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27606 with Pastor Greg Templin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning one hour before the service. Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 6 at Nelson Baptist Church Cemetery, 1837 Nelson Church Rd., Nelson, VA 24580.
