James Jimmy Craddock Owen

James "Jimmy" Craddock Owen, 71, husband of Peggy Bryant Owen, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June, 17, 2014 at McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond. Jimmy was born in Halifax County on October 16, 1942 to the late Robert Alexander and Florida Allen Owen. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, and was a retired mechanic. Jimmy attended Grace Baptist Church. Memorial services will be held there at 2PM on Saturday, June 21st with the Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In addition to his wife of 49 years, Mr. Owen is survived by his sons, Travis James Owen and his wife, Amy, of Alton and Casey Brandon Owen and his wife, Jennifer, of Scottsburg. His six grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Gene Owen.
