James "Jimmy" Dodge Fisher, Sr., of South Boston, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the age of 84. He was born in Washington, DC on November 22, 1935 to the late George Allnutt and Sarah Sullivan Fisher, but was raised in South Boston with his aunt and uncle, Margaret and Roy Sullivan. Jimmy was a graduate of Halifax County High and worked as a core coil assembler at Westinghouse (ABB). He loved making things particularly tables, chairs and other furniture pieces. Many considered him a true patriot and knew him as an avid Washington Redskins fan. Jimmy was a member at First Baptist Church. Cherishing his memories are his children, James Dodge “Dodd” Fisher, Jr. (Teri), Anthony Floyd “Tony” Fisher, Susan Renee Fisher, Sherri Fisher Bee and Kimberly Fisher Welcher (Chip); sister, Patricia Gibson and sister-in-law, Pat Fisher. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 9 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild and a host of other family members and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers, John Fisher, Richard Fisher and David Fisher. A private funeral service will be held with the Reverends Garrett Bowman and Susan Davis officiating. There will be a livestream broadcast of the service on the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 15. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the First Baptist Church Mission Group Fund be considered
