James "Jimmy" Brann Hogan

Buffalo Junction, VA – James “Jimmy” Brann Hogan passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at the age of 75. He was born July 26, 1944 in Halifax County, VA to the late James Thomas and Irene Puckett Hogan. Jimmy was employed with Ramsey Construction. Prior to his job there, he worked as a parts runner for NAPA and as a car salesman for Moore’s Chevrolet. First and foremost, Jimmy was a family man. Jimmy will be forever remembered by his wife of 35 years, Carol Lauri Hogan; by son, Christopher Brann Hogan and his wife, Sherrie, and daughter, Samantha; by daughter, Lisa Stoner of Norfolk and her children, Ashley and Brittney and her grandchildren, Kynlee and Kysen; by stepdaughter, Patricia Perkins of Rincon, GA and her son, William; and by siblings, Loretta Hogan Roberts of Bahama, NC, Anita Hogan Talley, Larry Wilford Hogan, both of Virgilina, and Lloyd Wayne Hogan (Sue) of Clarksville. He is also survived by a special nephew, Harley Ligon; his first wife and mother of his son, Carolyn Tillotson Pearce, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas William Hogan and Carl Edward Hogan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 7 at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Jack Stewart will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be considered to the American Cancer Society or Mecklenburg County Life Saving & Rescue.
