James Tolvon Luffman, Sr. 80, husband of Joyce Hanford Luffman, died Friday, January 14, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Durham, NC. He was born January 25, 1930 to James W. and Mary Faye Triplett Luffman. James was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Clarksville Painting and Wallpapering Co. for 60 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Luffman is survived by his daughters, Charlene Sue Rice of Skipwith, Jackie Richardson of Kernersville, NC; and sons, Curtis Luffman of Suffolk, James Tolvon "Jamie" Luffman, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL, William Pulliam of Aylett, and Tim Hopkins of Clarksville. His thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive him. He was preceded in death by his son, Willard Luffman. The family will receive friends 2-5PM Sunday, January 16, at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
