James Wesley "Snapper" Medley

CLOVER - Mr. James Wesley “Snapper” Medley of Clover, VA passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the age of 69. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on August 3, 1947 the son of the late James Edward Medley and the late Blanche Vassar Medley and was married for the past 41 years to the love of his life, Gayle Conner Medley. Mr. Medley farmed all of his adult life. He was a member of the Mt. Laurel Ruritan Club. Mr. Medley is survived by his wife, Gayle Conner Medley; daughter, Staci Medley Spell (John) of Clover; brother, Edward Muriel Medley of Clover; 3 grandchildren, Caraline Spell, Conner Spell, and Carleigh Spell; sister-in-law, Helen Roller Medley of Clover; nephews, Edwin Lee Medley and David Roller Medley. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Medley and Blanche Vassar Medley, and a brother, Chester David Medley. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Sean McGuire and the Reverend Aubrey Heath officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home, 3212 Rodgers Chapel Rd., Clover.
