James Mason Newcomb, Jr.

Scottsburg, VA –
James Mason Newcomb, Jr., husband of the late Judy Rose Newcomb, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the age of 67. Born in Halifax County on April 26, 1955, he was the son of the late James Mason Newcomb, Sr. and the late Virginia Mae Martin Newcomb. James was a retired factory worker. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing softball and watching wrestling. He attended the Clover Church of God of Prophecy.
James is survived by son, Kevin Newcomb; sister, Linda Jennings; grandchildren, Calvin "C.J." Newcomb and Katelyn Rose Newcomb; brother-in-law, Monroe Junior Martin and many other brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Newcomb and Harry Newcomb and by his mother-in-law, Louise Martin.
