James F. Pruitt

Rev. James F. Pruitt of Chattanooga, TN died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the age of 73. He was born in Mecklenburg Co., VA on March 24, 1940 to the late James E. Pruitt and the late Viola Elizabeth Pruitt and was married to the late Lucille Clay Pruitt. Survivors include five sons, Mike Pruitt, Dwayne Pruitt, Chris Pruitt, Jon Pruitt, and Charles Pruitt, all of Tennessee; two daughters, Dawn P. Vidal and Jennifer Pruitt, both of Tennessee; a brother, Kenneth R. Pruitt of Rocky Mount, NC; one sister, Beatrice P. Fourqurean of South Boston, VA; and fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Daniel T. Pruitt and Bobby Edgar Pruitt; and one sister, Barbara Jean Pruitt Poe. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 7 until 8:30 PM.
