James Wesley "Jack" Burnett, 80, husband of Joyce Logan Burnett, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home. Jack was born February 15, 1932 in High Point, NC to the late James Wesley, Sr. and Mabel Wells Burnett. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a retired Power House Operator with Smurfitt Stone with 35 years of service. He was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Chris Sorensen officiating. Interment will follow in Union Chapel Church cemetery. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Jack is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Ronnie Richardson of Dinwiddie and Patricia Diane and J.P. Seeley of Midland, TX. His grandchildren, Lori Gagliardi, James E. Stone, Jr., Karen Toombs, and Brittany Austin also survive. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30P.M on Thursday.
