James Lee Wilkins

Mr. James Lee Wilkins of 2005 Dabney Warren Road, Alton, VA died Sunday October 19, 2014 at the age of 68.He was born in Halifax Co., VA on November 26, 1945 to the late Herbert Owen Wilkins,Sr. and the late Louise Whitlow Wilkins.Mr. Wilkins was a retired farmer. He farmed with Billy (Dayday) Vernon and visited other farms in the community.Mr. Wilkins loved his family, especially his grandchildren and would help anybody who needed him.Survivors include his daughter, Christy Dawson and husband Skeet of Alton, VA; Grandchildren, James Clay , Brooke Clay, Allyson Wilkins, Jamie Wilkins,Jr.; Sisters,Linda Setzer and husband Wade of Drakes Branch, VA., Joyce Clayton and husband Thedford of Roxboro, NC.,; Brothers, Owen Wilkins and wife Pauline of Alton, VA., and Cecil Wilkins and wife Sara of Nathalie, VA.He is also survived by best friends Billy and Bonnie Vernon and J.B. Bowes.He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Jamie Wikins,Sr.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Harmony United Methodist Church with Reverend Bonnie Pizzeck officiating.Burial will follow in the Harmony United Methodist Church cemetery.The family will receive friends at Harmony United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 21, 2014from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
