James William Woltz

BUFFALO JUNCTION, VA Mr. James William Woltz passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the age of 88. Born in Halifax County on June 10, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas Alexander Woltz and the late Lillian Ethel Pool and was married to Barbara Cole Woltz. Mr. Woltz was born and reared in the Aaron’s Creek Community and was a graduate of Virgilina High School, class of 1946.He was a member of Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, RA leader, choir member, trustee and Sunday School teacher. His service to the community included being a charter and lifetime member of the Aaron’s Creek Ruritan Club, adult 4H leader and for over 40 years, he was an election official. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Stephen and wife, Debbie Woltz of Virgilina, David and wife, Kathryn of Buffalo Junction; daughter, Anne Nichols and husband, Ted of Clover; grandchildren, Stevie Woltz and wife, Amanda of Greensboro, NC, Stormi Woltz of Falls Church, VA and Vince Nichols of Lunenburg County, VA. Funeral services for Mr. Woltz will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Bryan Gough officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2013 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at 11217 Bill Tuck Hwy, Buffalo Junction, VA.
