Jane Duke Dayhuff Collins

Jane Duke Dayhuff Collins, 74, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on April 23, 2014, in Clarksville, Virginia. An Army brat, born in South Bend, Indiana on April 16, 1940, she moved all over the country as a child. She met her husband, Ronald Wayne Collins, the first day of college at Averett University in Danville, VA. They were married on May 25, 1959 and lived in Danville, Virginia. They lived in Merchantville, New Jersey for over 25 years. She was very active in Covenant Chapter 108, Order of the Eastern Star. She and Ron were Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron, 1971-72, and Jane was the Worthy District Deputy, 1972-73. She was a Girl Scout Leader and also served as the President of the Merchantville Woman's Club, 1983-85. In 1986 she became a Sales Representative for Innisbrook Wraps and became Sales Manager of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio which consisted of training and managing 35 successful Sales Representatives that became her life-long friends. She was a member of DAR, First Families of Maryland and the Colonial Dames of XVI Century. Moving to Clarksville in 2002, she became active in the community – the YMCA, MCCSC The Complex and the Vestry of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Wayne Collins of Clarksville, VA. Her sister Alicia and Joe Dorsie-Frank, her brother, Charles Hal and Barbara Dayhuff, her son Wayne and Dawn Collins , her daughter, Monette and Ed Runquist, her grandchildren Ronnie – wife Jess, Jeffrey-wife Ali and CJ Collins, Eddie and Ronnie Runquist, and her great grandchildren, Luke, Emelia, Adele, Georgia and Anna Collins. Services will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 2p.m. at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church with a reception immediately following. Afterwards, please feel free to bring your lawn chairs and join us at the Collins family home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jane's name to the MCCSC The Complex at 1567 Noblin Farm Road, Clarksville, VA, 23927, or St. Timothy's Episcopal Church at 111 Sixth Street, Clarksville, VA, 23927.
