Jane Overby Yancey

Mrs. Jane Eleanor Overby Yancey, 86, died at her home on June 25, 2016. She was born on May 19, 1930 in Mecklenburg County to Idenia Owen and Luddie Ambrose Overby. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Yancey. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. She loved her garden and enjoyed sharing its gifts with others. Jane was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where she also was a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Yancey is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn and Edwin Ray Talley; sister, Lucille West; brother, Ray Overby and brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Patricia Overby. Jane is also preceded in death by her siblings, Doris Jordan, Ruth Terrell, Edwin Overby, Mabel Thomas, Hilda Newton, and Ann Champion. Visitation will be held at 7:00 – 8:30 PM on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Buffalo Baptist Church in Buffalo Junction officiated by Pastor Wally Kelly and Pastor Dan Tilley followed by interment at Oakhurst Cemetery.
