Janice Stockton Shelton

Mrs. Janice Stockton Shelton, 79, wife of Cameron Shelton died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville. A native of Erwin, TN she was the daughter of Luther Hilliard and Dora Mashburn Stockton. Mrs. Shelton attended Madison College; taught school prior to marriage and then became a homemaker. She later worked for what is now Wachovia Bank. Moving to Clarksville last year to be near her daughter, Iva, Mrs. Shelton lived in Chase City and then Richmond, where she spent the next 40 years. A Celebration of Life will be 2PM Tuesday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Shelton Family Cemetery. In addition to her husband of 59 years, Mrs. Shelton is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Iva and Mike Sizemore of Clarksville, Barbara and Gregg Harris of Richmond; son and daughter-in-law, Cameron, Jr. and Carol Shelton of Richmond; and brother, Ronald Stockton of Farmville. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 12:30 until 2PM prior to the service.
