Janie Arlene Perkins Grimes

Mrs. Janie Arlene Perkins Grimes of South Boston died Friday, September 11, 2009 at the age of 85. She was born in South Boston on June 13, 1924 to the late Janie & Cabel Carrington Perkins. She was married to the late Orlando Tolbert Grimes. She was a homemaker and a member of Ash Ave. Baptist Church. Mrs. Grimes is survived by a son, Roger C. Lane of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Leatrise Maezel and Betty Gayle McPherson, both of Portsmouth; a granddaughter, Tasha Griffin; a grandson, Hrothgar G. Lane; and three great grandchildren, Garrison, Gannon, & Greenly Griffin. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda L. Walker. A graveside service for Mrs. Grimes will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 3:30 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. John Eure officiating.
