Janie Elliott Keeton

Buffalo Junction -- Janie Elliott Keeton went to be her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 24, 2021. She was born in Halifax County on May 16, 1927 to the late Henry Anderson Elliott and Annie Laura Hogan Elliott Hall.Janie was the wife of Hurley Lee Keeton, whom she married on October 9, 1943. Janie was retired from Burlington Industries with 27 years of service. Her last job was in the sample department.She was a member of Aaron's Creek Baptist Church.Janie loved all kids, her flowers and garden, her precious dog, Jill, and her cat, Kitty.Everyone called her Granny. She is survived by daughters, Annie K. Overby (Lynn), Lois K. Martin (Tony), and Linda K. Puryear and Donald Wall; sister, Marion Davis; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren, and 14 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, William Anderson "Sambo" Keeton; grandson, William Dale Keeton; granddaughter, Tiffany Martin; and her brothers, Henry "PeeWee" Elliott, John Elliott, Anderson Elliott, Tom Elliott, Stover Elliot; and her sister, Mary Elliott Vaughan. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm, with a Visitation one hour prior, at Aaron's Creek Baptist Church.Burial will follow services in Aaron's Creek Baptist Cemetery.Reverend Ian Rigney will officiate.
