Janie Jackson Thomas

Clarksville, VA Janie Jackson Thomas passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at the age of 85. Janie was born in Mecklenburg County on July 7, 1934, to the late Willie Brame and Jacob Robert Jackson. She was a 1951 graduate of Boydton High, and she attended Longwood College and the University of North Carolina. Janie retired from the Highway Safety Research Center of the University of North Carolina. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors are her children, David Randolph Hale and wife, Jean of Dayton, OH, Susan Elaine Hale of Ashland, VA, Joel Thomas Hale and wife, Tina of Harrisburg, PA, and Lucy Thomas McCall, and husband Robert of Clarksville, VA. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Jackson of Skipwith, VA, and granddaughters Lillian Hale Bradshaw of Norristown, PA and Katie McCall of Spout Spring, VA. Services will be private.
