Jannie Cash Walker

Mrs. Jannie Powell Cash Walker of Alton passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the age of 66.  Born in Halifax County on May 12, 1957, she was the daughter of Leonard and Molly Alice Powell.  She is survived by her husband, Paul Walker.

Jannie enjoyed sewing, writing poetry and music.  She was a very giving person and loved all of her family & friends.  She put a lot of love and thought into everything she did.  Jannie was a cancer survivor several times and fought the battle until the end.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Angela Womack; grandchildren, Cody Andrew Womack (Mone't), Justin Michael Womack (Haillie), Damion Wayne Womack, Tyler Roberts (Taylor) and Katelin Coates (Brandon); great grandchildren, River Womack, Lawson Roberts, Tobias Womack, and Zemora Womack; siblings, Jimmy Powell, Danny Powell and Dale Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Wayne Cash, Jr; siblings, Edward Powell, Jean Shelton, Jessie Mae Jones and Hugh "Ballie" Powell.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Alton Baptist Church with Reverend Vance Midgett officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 7th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and all other times at the Walker's home, 3026 Harmony Rd. Alton, VA 24520.  In lieu of flowers, Jannie's family asks that you consider making a contribution to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
