Jay Morgan Anderson

ROANOKE - Dr. Jay Morgan Anderson, Sr., age 80, of Roanoke, VA, formerly of South Boston, VA, died Thursday, October 27, 2016.After graduating from Halifax County High School, Dr. Anderson received his BS Degree from Virginia Tech, MS Degree from Radford University and Doctorate of Law from Blackstone School of Law.He became a member of the Virginia State Bar in 1989 and maintained that membership until his death.Dr. Anderson served his country in the US Army. Surviving are his wife, Helen Booth Anderson of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Ashten Leigh Stephenson of Nashville, TN; and two half-sisters.In addition to his parents, Robert Anderson and Florence Whitt Watts, he was preceded in death by a son, Jay Morgan Anderson, II. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to your local SPCA.
