Jean Buchanan O'Brien

Clarksville, VA Jean Buchanan O’Brien went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at the age of 83. She was born in Clarksville, VA on March 24, 1936 to the late Clara Buchanan and Luther Anna Buchanan. Jean was a 1953 graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Charles County Community College.She retired from the Department of the US Navy in Indian Head, MD after 25 years, where she was a manager of foreign military operations. Jean was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church and Grassy Creek Baptist Church, faithfully serving for many years as a Sunday school teacher. Jean is survived by her children, Thomas “Mike” O’Brien of Clarksville, VA, Belinda Balleaux of Hollywood, MD, Daniel O’Brien of St. Augustine, FL, and Mark O’Brien (Teresa) of Simi Valley, CA. She is further survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Sunday, February 16, 2020, from 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 17 at Clarksville Baptist Church with The Reverend Arielle Williford officiating.
