Jeanette Duckworth Wilborn

Jeanette Duckworth Wilborn of South Boston passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the blessed age of 93.  She was born in Chase City, VA on March 15, 1931 to the late Otis Settle Duckworth and the late Effie Jane Wagner Duckworth.  She is survived by her husband of 73 years, James Stovall Wilborn.

Jeanette was retired from J.P. Stevens as a cloth inspector.  When they moved to Florida, she had a daycare business.  She loved gardening and her flowers.  Jeanette was a wonderful homemaker to her family and was a very dedicated & loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She and James are members of First Baptist Church in South Boston.

She is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Brenda Breslow (John Sternberg) of Tampa, FL; son, James Larry Wilborn of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Russell Breslow, Rachel Widener and Justin Wilborn; great grandchildren, Ari, Scarlett & Remi; and special caregiver, Sarah Belle Hughes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Duckworth, Wagner Duckworth and Otis Duckworth.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, December 2, 2024 at First Baptist Church in South Boston with Pastor Bill Boelte officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church.  The burial will be private.  A luncheon will follow the service at First Baptist Church.
