Jerre Leroy Mabrey

Jerre Leroy Mabrey of Clarksville, VA passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the age of 84. Born in Anniston, Alabama on September 23, 1937; he was the son of the late Cuba Mabrey and the late Frances Childress Mabrey. He was married to Judith Franz Mabrey, who survives. Jerre proudly served 10 years in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1966 at the rank of Sergeant E5 Regular Army Quartermaster Corps. After his time in the military, Jerre worked as an engineer and retired as a Chief Operating Engineer with Heinz Pet Products/Starkist Seafoods in California where he worked for 21 years. He loved to tinker with things. His family will always think of him when they see mallards and dachshunds. He was a hard worker, wanting things done right, from the start. He was a true "MacGuyver". In addition to his wife, Judith, he is survived by daughters, Christi Perkins (Tim) of Clayton, NC; Stacy Mayo (Daryl) of Sacramento, CA; Bridgett Mabrey of Jamestown; TN and Lisa Munson (Mike) of Mt. Juliet, TN; step children, Deborah Winn (Dave) of Clarksville, VA; and Donald Davis of Oxford, NC; daughter- in- law Lilana Davis of Riverside, CA; 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step son, Michael Davis; and brothers Jimmy Frank Mabrey and Jackie Thomas Mabrey. A Celebration of the Life of Jerre Mabrey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Clarksville Baptist Church. All are invited to join the family for refreshments in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
