Jerry Norris Dalton

Dalton, Jerry Norris, 72 of Roanoke, VA, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA from complications due to Inclusion Body Myositis. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Diana Frazier Dalton, a daughter, Kimberly Frazier Gatrell (Alan) of Oxford, NC; two sons, David Norris Dalton (Deirdre O’Connor) of Charlottesville and Jonathan Trent Dalton (Catrina Belt) of Sterling, VA; and five grandchildren. Jerry was the youngest of five children, born March 30, 1945 to John Lacy Dalton and Tena Blanks Dalton in Mecklenburg, VA. He was a graduate of Bluestone High School, Class of 1964, and National Business College of Roanoke, Class of 1967. In 1967 Jerry was drafted into the US Army where he served as an MP in Fort Monroe Continental Army Command and Oberammergau, Germany until 1969. After his completion of service, Jerry received his BS from Milligan College Class of 1970, Johnson City, TN. He worked for First National Exchange Bank in accounting, Dominion National Bank as a Credit Manager, and Advanced Auto Parts as a Credit Manager, all in Roanoke. Jerry was a long-time, faithful member of Bonsack Baptist Church where he served as Deacon as well as Finance Chairman and as a member of the Building Committee.
