Jesse Wayne Myer

Jesse Wayne Myer, of South Boston, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born on August 23, 1954 to the late Wayne and Christine Madison Myer and was married to Kathy Hill Myer for 42 years.

Jesse was an avid outdoorsman. While he loved camping and fishing, his favorite hobby was metal detecting. He also enjoyed many sports, including NASCAR, basketball and football, and coached Kristi's ball teams and never missed a game. Jesse also had a passion for music, especially for classic rock. But Jesse will mostly be remembered for his kindness and positive spirit. He was a devoted husband, father, and brother.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his children, Kristi Leigh Myer and Zachery Ross Myer; siblings, David Myer (Lois) and Daniel Myer; beloved cousin and best friend, Mark Chalkley; sister and brothers in law, Sheri Harris (Keith), David Hill (Lisa) and Kyle Hill (Misty); and many beloved pets.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Adell Myer; and his parents in law, Ralph and Leeann Hill.

Services will be held at a later date.
