Jessie Allen Chandler

Jessie Allen Chandler of Clarksville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the age of 81. Born on December 18, 1940, in Clarksville, he was the son of the late Yuille and Beulah Griffin Chandler. Jessie was a retired road construction supervisor. He started his career with Talbott-Marks, then worked with Marjon and T&M and lastly worked with J. Gray Walker. There was not a piece of heavy equipment that he couldn’t operate. Jessie loved the outdoors, enjoying yardwork and his vegetable garden, and he delighted in time spent visiting with friends. He was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. Jessie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Nicholson Chandler; daughters, Stephanie Dennis (Scott) of Clarksville, Angela Holt (Larry) of South Boston and Crystal Chandler of Clarksville; grandchildren, Brandy Ridpath (Chris) of Apex, Vincent Lindholm II of Cummings, GA, Branden Dennis of Brooklyn, NY and Justin Dennis of Seattle, WA; great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Connor; sister, Laura Vae Raynor (Durham); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Edward Chandler, George Chandler, Eva Mae Malone, Kaola Fossett, Hazel Talbott, Sterling Chandler, Bob Chandler and Carl Chandler. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 17 in the chapel of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation on Wednesday, February 16 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. The Reverend Jane Lyon will be officiating the service.
