CLARKSVILLE Jewel Triplett Kirby, age 99, passed away on August 13, 2021. She was born on January 16, 1922, to the late James D. and Margaret Church Triplett in Granite Falls, North Carolina and was the widow of her beloved husband of 78 years, Floyd William Kirby. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Georgia and Wanda, and her brother Garrel. She is survived by her son, Floyd William "Butch" Kirby, Jr and his wife Margi; grandsons, Preston and Warren all of Richmond; sisters Violet and Sylvia and her brother Gene. After high school, she was employed by Pacific Mills and its sucessor, Burlington Industries. Upon her family 's move to Virginia in 1957, she became a homemaker. When they transferred to Massachusetts in early 1961, she quickly came to love her family's time in Brookline, enjoying Boston's music, museums and shopping in the "Hub of the Universe", particularly, Filene's Basement. After returning to Clarksville in late 1964, she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and volunteering as a docent at Prestwood Plantation. A private service will be held at Oakhurst Cemetery.
